Petitions
Ward 7 By Early Childhood requesting the closing of 9th Street, Kentucky to State from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for the annual “Meals and Wheels” event on October 4th. Barricades are requested. By The District requesting permission to temporarily close 5th and Maine for a 5K walk fundraiser on October 21st for the “Pink Pass It On In The District” walk to benefit Blessing
Ward 4,7 Hospital’s Breast Center. Walkers will assemble at 8:30 a.m. at 5th & Maine St. The walk will start at 10:00 a.m. proceed from 5th & Maine to 12th, continue on the sidewalk to 24th, turn around walking on sidewalk back to 5th & Maine. They request police or auxiliary officers to assist at the intersections.
Ward 3,4,7 By Quincy Senior High School Music Department and Friends Of The Performing Arts requesting permission to hold the 22nd annual Octoberfest Marching Band Parade on October 21st at 2:00 p.m. beginning at 33rd and Maine going west on Maine to the QJHS parking lot at 14th and Maine. They also request “No Parking” signs be placed on both sides of Maine, 12th to 33rd, on both sides of Jersey, 14th to 16th, and on the east side of 14th, Maine to Jersey, at the end of the day on Oct. 20th. They request to close 14th, Maine to Jersey, and Jersey, 12th to 16th, for the loading of the buses and if possible, have Maine Street cleaned prior to the event. Barricades requested for intersections of: 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 24th, 25th, 27th, 28th, 30th, and 33rd, for the safety of the bands participating.
By the American Legion Post 37 requesting permission to conduct a raffle and have the bond requirement waived from now until September 23rd. The City Clerk recommends approval of the permit.
Ward 7 By the Salvation Army Kroc Center requesting permission to hold a 1k Halloween Fun Run/Walk on October 28th starting at 9:00 a.m. The will start at the Salvation Army Kroc Center's upper parking lot, go east on Vermont Street to 7th, south on 7th to Hampshire, west on Hampshire to 6th street, north on 6th street to Vermont and back to the Kroc. They request assistance of 2 auxiliary police officers.
Ward 4 By Quincy Country Club/ Nostalgia Pyrotechnics requesting permission to hold a fireworks display on September 9th at Quincy Country Club, 24th & State. The Quincy Fire Department has given their approval.
Reports Of The Quincy Plan Commission
Ward 3 Recommending approval of the “small tract” subdivision property (dividing one lot into two) located at 3904 and 3906 Broadway.
Ward 3 Recommending approval of zoning changes from C1B (Limited Local Commercial) to C2 (Commercial) located at 304 North 30th and 3024 to 3100 Broadway.
Ward 2 Recommending denial of the requested special permit for a planned development to install nonconforming Standard Outdoor Advertising Structures (billboards) on property located at 831 North 24th.

Ward 7 An Ordinance Vacating An Alley. (East-West alley at 11th Street extending East towards 12th Street, located between Hampshire and Vermont and North-South alley at Hampshire St. extending North towards Vermont St. between 11th and 12th Streets.)
Ward 3 The ordinance entitled: An Ordinance Amending The District Map Which Is Made A Part Of Section 162.002 Of The Municipal Code Of The City Of Quincy Of 2015. (R1A to C1A, 4435 Broadway, which is up for adoption, was tabled indefinitely by Ald. Ernst at the 7/10/17 City Council Meeting is being removed from the table by Ald. Havermale.
