The calls in Galesburg included 100 fires - 53 structure fires, 21 vehicle fires and 25 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $860,905 in fire loss - or about $8,609 per fire.
The department also received 304 false calls, including 15 malicious calls and 289 other false calls.
The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury and one civilian fire-related death.
The Galesburg Firefighters' Fighters Pension Fund, which has 42 active employees and 71 retired or inactive employees, was $2,895,991 in debt as of December 2015, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $28,960 for every fire in 2016.
