The calls in Macomb included 45 fires - 21 structure fires, three vehicle fires and 16 other fires. The fire department also responded to five calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $234,600 in fire loss - or about $5,213 per fire.
The department also received 246 false calls, including 12 malicious calls and 234 other false calls.
The Macomb Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has 20 active employees and 28 retired or inactive employees, was $1,263,890 in debt as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $28,086 for every fire in 2016.
