The calls in Jacksonville included 76 fires - 35 structure fires, 14 vehicle fires and 24 other fires. The fire department also responded to three calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $444,405 in fire loss - or about $5,847 per fire.
The department also received 163 false calls, including three malicious calls and 160 other false calls.
The Jacksonville Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has 24 active employees and 37 retired or inactive employees, was $1,574,350 in debt as of December 2015, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $20,715 for every fire in 2016.
