Nauvoo-Colusa Community Unit School District #325 Board met January 8. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

1.0 Call to Order by Mr. Siegfried, School Board President


          The board meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by President Michael Siegfried.

2.0 Roll Call

          Present: Mrs. Kyle, Mrs. Little, Mrs. Poe, Mr. Siegfried, Mrs. Snyder, Mrs. Stevenson.

          Absent: Mr. Schmitz.

          Also Present: Mr. Ayer, Mrs. Miller.

3.0 Pledge of Allegiance

4.0 Approval of Minutes

          4.01 Approve Regular Meeting Minutes for December 2017

          Mrs. Snyder made the motion to approve the regular meeting minutes for December 2017 with a 

          second by Mrs. Kyle. Ayes-6, Nays-0.

          Absent: Mr. Schmitz. Motion carried.

5.0 Financials

          5.01 Pay Bills for December 2017

          Mrs. Little made the motion to pay the bills for December 2017 with a second by Mrs. Stevenson.

          Mrs. Kyle-Yes, Mrs. Little-Yes, Mrs. Poe-Yes, Mr. Siegfried-Yes, Mrs. Snyder-Yes, Mrs. Stevenson-Yes.

          Absent: Mr. Schmitz. Motion carried.

          5.02 Approve Financial and Treasurer Report for December 2017

          Mrs. Little made the motion to approve the financial and treasurer report for December 2017 with a 

         second by Mrs. Poe Mrs. Kyle-Yes, Mrs. Little-Yes, Mrs. Poe-Yes, Mr. Siegfried-Yes, Mrs. Snyder-Yes, 

         Mrs. Stevenson-Yes.

          Absent: Mr. Schmitz. Motion carried.

          This year N-C spent $1,129,938 in the education fund compared to $977,106 spent in the education 

          fund last year.

          In the operation and maintenance fund, N-C spent $100,830 this year compared to last year the district 

          had spent $125,333. The district spent $159,849 in the transportation fund compared to $177,114 last 

          year. The district spent $1,390,617 this year compared to $1,279,553 last year at this time in those 

          three funds for a difference of $111,064 more this year compared to last year.

          The 31st of December completed 50% of the 2018 fiscal year. The district expended 42.4% of the 

           education budget, 30.0% of the operations and maintenance budget, and 47.8 % of the transportation 

           budget. Fund balances as of December 31, 2017: Education: $1,396,976 Operation and Maintenance: 

           $545,901 Transportation: $248,757 and Working Cash: $176,181. The four Major Fund Balances: 

           $2,367,815. Total Fund Balance for all funds: $3,554,851.

           Fund balances as of December 31, 2016: Education: $1,128,867 Building: $466,372 Transportation: 

            $188,449 and Working Cash: $144,087. The four Major Fund Balances: $1,927,775. Total Fund 

            Balance for all funds: $2,946,226. The district has $440,040 more this year compare to last year in the 

            four major funds. The district has $608,625 more this year compared to last year in total fund balance.

6.0 Recognition of the Members of the Audience

          6.01 Public Comment

          There was no public comment.

7.0 Action Items

          7.01 Consider the Adoption of the Updated School Board Policies

          Mrs. Little made the motion to approve the school board policies as presented with a second by Mrs. 

          Stevenson.

          Ayes-6, Nays-0.

          Absent: Mr. Schmitz. Motion carried.

8.0 Communications and Correspondence

          8.01 Martin Luther King Jr Day- No School- January 15, 2018

          8.02 Teacher Institute- February 5, 2018

          8.03 Regular School Board Meeting- February 12, 2018- 6:30 p.m.

          8.04 President’s Day- No School February 19, 2018

          8.05 Regular School Board Meeting- March 19, 2018- 6:30 p.m.

          8.06 Easter Break-Spring Break- March 29-April 2, 2018

          8.07 Regular School Board Meeting- April 16, 2018- 6:30 p.m.

9.0 Adjournment

          Mrs. Poe made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:39 p.m. with a second by Mrs. Snyder. Ayes-6, 

          Nays-0.

           Absent: Mr. Schmitz. Motion carried.
