Analysis: Beardstown pays $6.92 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Beardstown Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 87.4 percent of the $185,305 the Beardstown Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $6.92 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Beardstown contributed $161,919 to the fund, which saw a $9,484 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $23,387, or 12.6 percent, in 2016.
