Analysis: Macomb pays $4.27 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Macomb Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.8 percent of the $618,416 the Macomb Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.27 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Macomb contributed $499,923 to the fund, which saw a $33,603 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $116,866, or 18.9 percent, in 2016. Another $1,627 came from other unspecified sources.
