Sen. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) had royalty at her side recently in the Senate.
“May I have the attention of members of this body,” Tracy said April 11 on the Senate floor while pointing to her left. She then said she was privileged to be accompanied by Miss Quincy, Taylor Hardy, who is also the former Hancock County Fair queen.
“She is a graduate of the University of Illinois in the Agriculture Leadership Program,” Tracy said.
Hardy will compete in the Miss Illinois Pageant in June, Tracy added.
“Her platform is agriculture in the classroom,” Tracy said of Hardy, who is also employed by the Illinois Farm Bureau.
“Would you all join me in giving Miss Quincy a warm welcome,” Tracy said.
