City of Waverly City Council met March 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The City Council of the City of Waverly, Illinois met in regular session on March 06, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers. City Clerk Jeff Jones was present. Treasurer Dave Copelin present.

Roll Call

Mayor Scott Duewer called the meeting to order and roll call was answered by Council members: Shirley Aleguas, Jeff Baines, Shane Gray, Donny Ruyle, Joe Nagel and Terry Campbell.

Comments From The Floor

Randy Shine asked if there was anything that could be done about ditch with water runoff, was explained not at this time.

There was discussion of putting a “Buddy Bench” in the Park.

Minutes

Motion by Alderman Gray Second by Alderman Campbell to approve the meeting minutes from the February 06, 2018 meeting. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Nagel, Gray and Ruyle. NAYS: None.

Reports

Motion by Alderman Nagel Second by Alderwoman Aleguas to approve the reports of the clerk, collector, bookkeeper, and treasurer. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Gray, Nagel and Ruyle. NAYS: None.

Bills

Motion by Alderman Nagel, Second by Alderman Baines to pay the January bills due in February. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Gray, Nagel and Ruyle. NAYS: None.

Municipal

Motion by Alderman Gray Seconded by Alderman Nagel of transferring of the Liquor Licence from Amstar to Fanning Fuel Co. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Gray, Nagel and Ruyle. NAYS: None.

Motion by Alderman Baines Seconded by Alderman Ruyle to set date for heavy trash for April 28th 2018. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Gray, Nagel and Ruyle. NAYS: None.

Motion by Alderman Baines Seconded by Alderman Gray to put ad in paper to get bids for demolition of house at 103 S. Miller. Ad will run till noon April 3rd 2018. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Gray, Nagel and Ruyle. NAYS: None.

Motion by Alderman Ruyle Seconded by Alderman Baines to run ad for summer help. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Gray, Nagel and Ruyle. NAYS: None.

Streets And Alley

Steve’s monthly report was reviewed.

Finance

Parks, Lakes, And Recreation

Police

Chief Bettis’ monthly police report was discussed.

Utilities

Motion by Alderman Gray Seconded by Alderman Baines to go with Option #1 for raising Sewer rates. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Gray, Nagel and Ruyle. NAYS: None.

Community Development

Zoning

New Business

Discussion and Possible Action about a Vac-Truck was tabled to April meeting.

Old Business

Review of Ordinances and working on Employee Handbook.

Adjourn

Motion by Alderman Ruyle, second by Alderman Campbell to adjourn the meeting. Motion to approve adjourning the meeting by roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Campbell, Baines, Gray, Nagel and Ruyle. NAYS: None. Mayor Duewer adjourned the meeting at 8:20 P.M.
