Beardstown Park District Board of Commissioners met March 28.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The March meeting of the Beardstown Park District board of commissioners was held on March 28 at the Schewe Community Center. Becky Jones called to order and roll was taken. Commissioners present included Johnny Hardwick, Becky Jones, Larry Kight, Bob Schaefer and Travis Schroll. Also in attendance were Park Director Jason Brockschmidt, Secretary-Treasurer Greta Unland, Pool Architect Jamie Cosgriff and Attorney T.J. Wessel.

The minutes of the March meeting were approved on a motion by Mr. Schaefer a second by Mr. Hardwick.

The treasurer’s report was approved on a motion by Mr. Kight and a second by Mr. Schaefer.

The claims list was approved on a motion by Mr. Schroll and a second by Mr. Kight.

Mr. Brockschmidt then presented the directors report. The tentative budget was approved on a roll call vote after motion by Mr. Schaefer and a second by Mr. Hardwick. The final approval will be at the May 23 board meeting.

Mr. Brockschmidt gave the board an update on the upcoming summer program flier. Will be ready by mid

April for May sign ups and will be going out in the newspaper. He also informed the board that all parks will be fully opened soon.

Pool update: Mr. Cosgriff stated that things are still moving along. Someone from Contegra will be here from here on out until pool is finished. Bathhouse is almost complete. They will be checking on other options for the placement of the water heater in the bathhouse. The painting of the pool will begin in April and go through most of the month. Mr. Cosgriff also stated there is a crack in the concrete and will be checking into patching or fixing that completely.

The meeting adjourned at 1:15 p.m. on a motion by Mr. Schaefer and a second by Mr. Hardwick.
