Report: Jacksonville spent $10,126 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Jacksonville School District 117 is up 9 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Morgan County school district spent $9,270 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,126 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 3419 to 3456.

Jacksonville's spending in 2016-17 was 22 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
