Western Illinois Museum issued the following announcement on May 16.
This summer we welcome two interns: Madeline (Maddy) Fields and Apolline (Abby) Ngati. Both are students from Western Illinois University but they bring experiences from different departments. Maddy is a History Major while Abby studied in the Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration (RPTA).e!
Maddy will receive three credits for her time at the museum this summer and she is interested in learning about collection management, and exhibit research and installation. As she enters her last year, she is building her resume working at the library on campus in the mornings and spending the afternoons at the museum. Her professional goal is to work in an archive or library.
Abby has completed her coursework for her degree and will spend 12 weeks working at the museum this summer. Her professional interest is working in event management and will be applying her recent studies to get our new exhibit space, The Blind Swine, up and running. The Blind Swine is a blend of exhibits and programs and our interns are the perfect team to assist the museum with this new initiative.
