McDonough District Hospital issued the following announcement on May 24.
Dr. Rick Iverson, Chairman of the McDonough District Hospital Board of Directors, announced a familiar name as the search firm tasked to hire a new CEO.
MDH has contracted with B.E. Smith (an AMN Healthcare Company) to hire an interim CEO and run the executive search to replace current CEO Kenny Boyd, who announced his resignation effective next month. B.E. Smith is the search firm used when MDH hired Boyd and several department leaders.
Based in Lenexa, Kansas, B.E. Smith was ranked the #1 senior executive search firm in healthcare by Modern Healthcare, and earned that ranking six times over the past eight years.
For 40 years, B.E. Smith has worked with national healthcare organizations to fill C-suite, executive- and director-level recruitment, including 600-plus searches in the past year. Of those, 40 were CEO searches.
“We are pleased to renew our partnership with B.E. Smith to find the next CEO at McDonough District Hospital. They are a nationally-respected search firm and having worked with MDH prior, they know the type of leader we need,” said Dr. Iverson. “This is an exciting and important time at MDH. We are starting work on the Dolores Kator Switzer Women’s Center, and with healthcare constantly evolving we need to find the right person to keep moving our organization forward.”
