PASSAVANT HOSPITAL: Susan Weikert is Passavant Employee of the Month

Health event recap 01

Passavant Hospital issued the following announcement on May 29.

Passavant Area Hospital’s Employee of the Month is Susan Weikert, a registered nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). She has been a Passavant employee 27 years.

A grateful patient nominated Susan for the honor: “I recently had same day surgery at Passavant. Wow, what a well-oiled machine. I had great care from my nurse, Sam, Dr. Fatheree and the Anesthesia staff. However, the most valuable player for my visit was Susan Weikert. Susan has great skills. She commands a room by walking in. Her smile and her skill-set provide an immediate sense of relief and confidence that you are going to get the best care. In the ever changing world of medicine, where policies and people change daily, the ‘sameness’ of Susan provides immediate comfort and confidence.”

In her role, Susan helps prepare patients for surgeries and other medical procedures in Ambulatory Surgery and then care for them as they emerge from anesthesia in PACU. “I work with some amazing people,” Susan said. “They all provide great care to our community.”

Susan and her husband, Richard, reside in Jacksonville. They are the parents of three children, Meghan, Melissa and Matthew (deceased).

The Employee of the Month at Passavant receives eight hours off with pay, an Employee of the Month plaque, a close parking space for one month, gift cards for the Cafeteria and Gift Shop, a movie gift card, pen and pencil set, picnic blanket, flashlight/tool kit, Mason jar cup, umbrella, small cooler, lunch sack, drawstring tote, water bottle, notepad, flashlight key ring, coffee mug, and cup.
