McDonough County Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met May 8.

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the Elms. Committee members in attendance included Chairman Larry Aurelio, Lee Calvert, Dave Cortelyou, Bob Mahr, Paul Trimmer, Jerome Anderson, and Marcia Twaddle. Members absent were Digger Oster. Others in attendance included Patrick Stout, Tina Cox, Allen Sheffler, County Chairman Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes. Chairman Aurelio called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Review & Approval of April 10, 2018 Minutes
Member Mahr moved with second by Member Twaddle to approve the April 10, 2018 minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Farm Report
The corn is now up in the fields.
Administrator’s Report
Census is at 85, with 8 being Medicare, 38 Medicaid, 34 private pay, and 5 (3 Medicaid & 2 Private) on hospice. The state currently owes $411,911.86. There were 7 new admissions and 4 discharges.
Financial Report
Member Mahr moved with a second by Member Anderson to approve the April 2018 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Elms Claims
Member Trimmer moved with a second by Member Mahr to approve the Elm’s claims. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 7 yeas and 1 absent.
Macomb Public Building Commission
They are working on getting the pole moved at the Sheriff’s Department.
Zahrn Building
They have begun tuck pointing.
McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report
Allen Sheffler gave the report. Trees and bushes have been trimmed, and the floors in the Courthouse have been waxed. Timbuk Tech will be in this week to work on the Andover system. The new phone system will be installed this week.
Building and Grounds Claims
Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Trimmer to approve the Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried with a voice note.

Member Trimmer moved with a second by Member Mahr that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried on a voice vote. With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:14 p.m.
