The board meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Vice President, Sandy Stevenson.

Mr. Schmitz made the motion to approve the financial and treasurer report for April 2018 with a second by Mrs. Snyder.

This year N-C spent $2,100,120 in the education fund compared to $1,809,612 spent in the education fund last year. In the operation and maintenance fund, N-C spent $176,546 this year compared to last year the district had spent $208,233. The district spent $230,242 in the transportation fund compared to $290,398 last year. The district spent $2,506,908 this year compared to $2,308,243 last year at this time in those three funds for a difference of $198,665 more this year compared to last year.
The 30th of April completed 83% of the 2018 fiscal year. The district expended 78.7% of the education budget, 52.5% of the operations and maintenance budget, and 68.8% of the transportation budget.
Fund balances as of April 30, 2018: Education: $944,459, Operation and Maintenance: $470,610, Transportation: $284,283, and Working Cash: $176,313. The four Major Fund Balances: $1,875,665. Total Fund Balance for all funds: $2,963,369.
Fund balances as of April 30, 2017: Education: $724,129, Building: $383,779, Transportation: $173,241 and Working Cash: $146,169. The four Major Fund Balances: $1,427,318. Total Fund Balance for all funds: $2,478,773.
The district has $448,347 more this year compare to last year in the four major funds. The district has $484,569 more this year compared to last year in total fund balance.

6.02 School Board Conference- November 16-18, 2018- Chicago
The School Board Conference was discussed and members were asked to let Mr. Young know if they will be attending. It will be held in Chicago November 16-18, 2018.

There was discussion that there could possibly be a delay in receiving local revenue due to the delay in completion of the assessments of properties.

Mrs. Kyle made the motion to set the school board meeting times at 6:00 p.m. with a second by Mrs. Poe. Discussion followed as to what time works best for individuals. The general consensus among those board members present was that 6:30 worked out best.

9.05 Consider Approving the Resolution to Hold a Hearing at the July School Board Meeting for an Interfund Transfer from the Tort Immunity Fund to the Operations & Maintenance Fund.
Mrs. Snyder made the motion to approve the resolution to hold a hearing at the July school board meeting for an inter fund transfer from the Tort Immunity Fund to the Operations & Maintenance Fund with a second by Mr. Schmitz. The money will be used to build a secure entryway into the current main office.

Mr. Schmitz made the motion to approve the school lunch prices for the 2018-19 school year at $2.75 for a student lunch and $3.20 for an adult lunch with a second by Mrs. Kyle. This is a $.10 increase per federal guideline requirements.
