The Illinois Federation of Teacher COPE division, its political arm designed to support candidates, has recently donated $50,000 to Rep. Emanuel "Chris" Welch's (D-Hillside) campaign. Welch is know for supporting teaching cursive in Illinois schools as well as being a proponent of immigration protection.
