Thomas H. Boyd Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on June 29.
Boyd’s Closet and Friends of Boyd have once again come together to grant a substantial amount of financial assistance to several departments within Boyd Healthcare Services (BHS).
This group of volunteers hosted a semi-annual meeting to grant requests to purchase needed equipment. The most recent meeting will benefit 15 departments within BHS.
Boyd’s Closet is a resell shop located on the West side of Boyd Hospital, on 9th St., at the entrance of Hawkland Estates.
Volunteers work each week to organize, price and display items that have been donated by the public.
The volunteers that work each week are known as “Friends of Boyd”.
These men and women are vital to the success of Boyd’s Closet, and assisting BHS with purchases outside of our operating budget.
Due to their outstanding efforts, over $10,000 worth of new equipment will be purchased in the upcoming weeks.
The hours of operation for Boyd’s Closet are Thursday’s and Friday’s from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering or have questions about donating, you may call Frank Dewitt at (217) 942-6946 Monday – Friday.
