Passavant Hospital issued the following announcement on July 26.
The Passavant Area Hospital Foundation is the recipient of a $50,000 estate gift from the late Charles M. “Charlie” Bellatti. The gift is designated for greatest need. Bellatti participated in Passavant’s Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation unit from 2001 until the time of his death in June 2017.
“Mr. Bellatti was a wonderful gentleman. He was always on the bicycles or treadmill and loved to talk about the circus with his exercise friends,” said Ann Yording, MSN, RN, Cardiac/Pulmonary nurse manager. “I’m pleased he remembered Passavant with such a generous gift.”
Bellatti was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and attended Illinois College. He served as reporter for the Jacksonville Journal-Courier, sports information director for the University of Illinois, director of public information and alumni affairs for Illinois College and handled publicity and advertising for the Carson and Barnes Circus. He is included in both the Illinois College and Jacksonville High School Athletic Halls of Fame.
