Beardstown Park District Board met July 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The July meeting of the Beardstown Park District board of commissioners was held on July 25 at the Schewe Community Center. President Travis Schroll called to order and roll was taken. Commissioners present included Johnny Hardwick, Larry Kight, Bob Schaefer and Travis Schroll. Also in attendance were Park Director Jason Brockschmidt, Secretary-Treasurer Greta Unland and Attorney T.J. Wessel.

The minutes of the June meeting were approved on a motion by Mr. Kight and a second by Mr. Hardwick.

The treasurer’s report was approved on a motion by Mr. Schaefer and a second by Mr. Hardwick.

The claims list was approved after a motion by Mr. Schaefer and a second by Mr. Kight.

The board approved Greta Unland’s resignation as the secretary/treasurer after a motion by Mr. Kight and a second by Mr. Hardwick. The board also discussed being a part of the interview process for the replacement of the secretary/treasurer position.

Mr. Brockschmidt then presented the directors report. He gave an update on the current recreation programs and that Women’s and Coed Softball leagues. The fall program is complete and will be promoted in August.

Mr. Brockschmidt informed the board that the prevailing wage ordinance had been filed. The liability insurance was discussed and will be looked further into on increasing the amount of the liability policy.

Workman’s comp policy was briefly discussed.

The meeting adjourned at 1:10 pm on a motion by Mr. Kight and a second by Mr. Hardwick.
