City of Waverly City Council met Sept. 4.

-September 04, 2018 Minutes-

The City Council of the City of Waverly, Illinois met in regular session on September 04, 2018 at 7:00

P.M. in the Council Chambers. City Clerk Jeff Jones was present. Treasurer Dave Copelin was present.

ROLL CALL

Mayor Scott Duewer called the meeting to order and roll call was answered by Council members: Shirley Aleguas, Jeff Baines, Terry Campbell, Joe Nagel, and Donnie Ruyle.

COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR

MINUTES

Motion by Alderwoman Aleguas Second by Alderman Baines to approve the meeting minutes from the August 07, 2018 meeting. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Baines, Campbell, Nagel and Ruyle. NAYS: None.

REPORTS

Motion by Alderman Nagel Second by Alderman Ruyle to approve the reports of the clerk, collector, bookkeeper, and treasurer. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Baines, Campbell, Nagel and Ruyle. NAYS: None.

BILLS

Motion by Alderman Baines, Second by Alderman Gray to pay the August bills due in September. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Baines, Campbell, Nagel and Ruyle. NAYS: None.

MUNICIPAL

Motion by Alderman Nagel Second by Alderman Ruyle to approve annual raise for Mark Lowder and Vance Kesinger. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Baines, Campbell, Nagel and Ruyle. NAYS: None.

Motion by Alderman Baines Second by Alderman Ruyle to change Life and Dental Insurance. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Baines, Campbell, Nagel and Ruyle. NAYS: None.

Discussion to set a Special Meeting for Commercially Zoned Properties will be September 26, 2018 at 7 p.m. Individual letters were sent out.

FINANCE STREETS AND ALLEY

Steve’s monthly report was reviewed.

PARKS, LAKES, AND RECREATION POLICE

Chief Bettis’ monthly police report was discussed.

UTILITIES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

The 2018 Waverly Picknick had a great turnout.

ZONING NEW BUSINESS

A donation of $100.00 for Mike Whalen will go to the Waverly Fire and Rescue Squad.

OLD BUSINESS

ADJOURN

Motion by Alderman Ruyle, Second by Alderman Campbell to adjourn the meeting. Motion was approved by a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aleguas, Baines, Campbell, Nagel and Ruyle. NAYS: None.

Mayor Duewer adjourned the meeting at 7:45 P.M.
