Pike County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Jan. 9.
Please join us for our next adventure in discovery at our
5th ANNUAL EXPLORER'S DINNER.
Each year we feature a presentation by extraordinary people who have made important discoveries and expeditions. We do this in honor of Pike County's most rugged survivalist- David Irwin. He was the first man to trek across the top of the world- alone- and when he returned from his death defying Arctic expedition, in February of 1935, he made national headlines.
This year we welcome Doc Bayne. Doc will tell us how he discovered the forge that made the great chain the Continental Army used to stop the British invasion of the Colonies. It was placed across the Hudson River at West Point.
Join us on Saturday, February 9th at 6pm for the presentation followed by dinner, dessert and coffee.
Tickets are $40
Reservations please.
