Report: Beardstown spent $8,246 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Beardstown Community Unified School District 15 is down 2.6 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Cass County school district spent $8,464 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,246 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1481 to 1582.

Beardstown's spending in 2017-18 was 38.2 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
