Report: Brussels spent $11,360 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Brussels Community Unit School District 42 is down 5.6 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Calhoun County school district spent $12,031 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $11,360 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 121 to 125.

Brussels's spending in 2017-18 was 14.8 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
