McDonough District Hospital issued the following announcement on Feb. 20.
McDonough District Hospital, along with Lifeguard Ambulance Service, will offer a Community First Aid class on Tuesday, March 5, at 6 p.m. in Auditoriums A & B (lower level) at MDH.
The First Aid course covers injury assessment, various medical situations, and safety and injury prevention. Learn up-to-date first aid knowledge that will help individuals respond appropriately and confidently to an emergency situation that could save a life. The class will cover adult, child, and infant first aid techniques.
The First Aid classes offered at MDH follow the American Heart Association guidelines and focus on remaining calm, performing proper first aid techniques, and obtaining medical assistance.
Pre-registration and a $40 fee are required for each course. A minimum of six (6) participants are necessary for each class to be held. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, anyone having special needs should give advance notice when pre-registering for the course.
