Former state university employee Boussaard paid in $54K to pension fund, could collect $913K in retirement

Former state university employee Suzanne Boussaard, who retired in January 2019, saved $53,999 toward a pension over 24 years working for state universities, State Universities Retirement System of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Boussaard would collect as much as $912,877, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes West Central Reporter.

The projection assumes Boussaard received $19,188 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 3 years of retirement, Boussaard will have already received $59,309 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the state pension fund.
