2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Cass County?

There were 11 offenders released on parole during 2018 that live in Cass County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by West Central Reporter.

The data shows that 10 men and one women were released in Cass County. The median age of the parolees was 34. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017, and the oldest was a 65-year-old man convicted of homicide in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Cory M. Paytes. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2013 when he was 23 years old. He is now 29.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
