2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Scott County?

There were three offenders released on parole during 2018 that live in Scott County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by West Central Reporter.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Scott County were men. The median age of the parolees was 30. The youngest parolee was a 28-year-old man convicted of a crime against one or more children in 2014, and the oldest was a 32-year-old man convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jacob L. Carriger. He was convicted of a crime against one or more children in 2014 when he was 23 years old. He is now 28.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in 2018 in each Scott County municipality.
