City of Bushnell City Council met June 3.

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

MAEDCO
1. MAEDCO Executive Director, Kim Pierce, stated that Christi Steelman had been named the new CEO facilitator. She will be going to a trade show in Champaign on June 9 & 10. Christi will officially start her new position 2 weeks prior to the new school year.
2. Pierce advised that the windfarm on 2400th St. in Sciota is now under construction.
Treasurer Report:
City Treasurer Dan Cortelyou reported that the state of Illinois passed the 2020-21 budget and it appears we will be getting more motor fuel tax.
Ald. Glisan made a motion to approve the consent agenda, which includes the following items:
1. Approval of Minutes from May 20, 2019
2. Approving April Financial Report
3. Accept and pay May bills.

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.
Ad Hoc (Mayor’s Report)
1. Mayor Wilt commented on the flower bed cleanup uptown, looks great, headed up by Christi Steelman, who has also started a new page on Facebook “Better Bushnell”.
2. Mayor Wilt advised that the Bushnell flag crew would be putting up flags at the Elms On Wednesday for a D-Day celebration.
3. Mayor Wilt praised the city crew for their efforts in cleanup after the storms.
4. Mayor Wilt advised that they were $85.00 short on the funding for fireworks.
5. Mayor Wilt commented on the passing of Max Murphy who was always very involved in the City.
Personnel/Finance/Budget
1. Ald. Norton stated that they would explore options of Union Legal Representation.
Public Works –Street/Sewer/Alley
1. Public works director, Justin Griffith, presented a map with the proposed fiber optic installation.
2. The Christmas in July committee requested that the 300 block of W. Main be closed along with the 400 block, (which was previously approved) on July 26, 2019 for the craft and car show. The council approved with general consensus.
3. Griffith stated that a new culvert would be put in at lake lawn, should take a day and half. Residents will be notified prior to the installation.
Police/Liquor/ESDA
1. Police Activity Report was submitted for May.
2. Next meeting will be June 10, 2019 4pm at Police Complex.
3. ESDA director, Jeff Rench stated that the Gas Drill went off well and they are planning an Active Shooter training drill at the school.
Parks/Recreation
1. Ald. Glisan asked for permission to run an ad in the paper to advertise requirements for the applicants for Rec Center custodian. Permission was approved with general consensus of the
Council.
Real Estate:
1. Ald. Coates announced that we did not receive the grant for home demolition. She exploring additional grant opportunities.
Eric Moe with McClure Engineering stated the deep well project was moving right along.
