Q4 2018 Recap: Parolees in Morgan County convicted of financial crimes or fraud

There were two offenders convicted of financial crimes or fraud released on parole in Morgan County during the fourth quarter of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the West Central Reporter.

The data shows that both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for financial crimes or fraud was 39. The youngest parolee was a 36-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 42-year-old man sentenced in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Bud R. Sleek. He was convicted in 2017 when he was 34 years old. He is now 36.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
