McDonough County Finance Committee met May 9.

The monthly Finance Committee meeting was held on Wednesday, May 9, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3rd Floor Law Library. Committee members present were Vice Chairman Scott Schwerer, Larry Aurelio, Letha Clark, Rod McGrew, and Trevor Toland. Committee Chairman Travis Hiel was absent. Others in attendance included Keith Krohe, Randy Pickering, State’s Attorney Matt Kwacala, County Chairman George Dixon, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.
Vice Chairman Schwerer called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Review & Approval of April 10, 2019 Minutes
Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member McGrew to approve the minutes of April 10, 2019 as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
MCPT Report Review & Approval
The monthly report for April 2019 from McDonough County Public Transportation was reviewed. Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the April 2019 MCPT report in the amount of $1,576.50. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Bushnell Senior Meals Report Review & Approval
The monthly report for April 2019 from the YMCA for transportation of senior meals in Bushnell was reviewed. Member Toland moved with a second by Member McGrew to approve the April 2019 YMCA report in the amount of $635.10. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Coroner Report
The monthly Coroner Report was received and filed.
Monthly Financial Reports
The monthly Financial Reports were received and filed.
Transfer of Funds
None
Warrants Issued in Vacation
Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the Warrants Issued in Vacation. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Insurance Update
Keith Krohe and Randy Pickering held and insurance committee meeting today in the Courthouse. A few requests were made, one of them was in regards to steroid injections. A discussion was held on allowing an individual to have 6 injections a year.
Member Toland made a motion with a second by Clark to allow an individual 6 steroid epidural injections in the lifetime of the plan. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Claims are up $28,913.00 from the same time last year. A discussion was held regarding increasing the dental coverage, no action taken at this time.
State’s Attorney Matt Kwacala – Criminal Fine and Fee Resolution
State’s Attorney Kwacala was present to discuss the Resolution pertaining to fine costs. Five funds were removed and they would like to add them back. The funds removed were Court Security, Drug Court, Teen Court, the Court Fund, and CASA. Vice Chairman Schwerer asked how many Teen Court cases were handled. Kwacala believed they heard two cases last year.
Approval of Claims
Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Toland to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Executive Session
Motion to enter into executive session for discussion of Finance was made by Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark at 6:42 p.m. A motion to exit executive session was made by Member McGrew moved with a second by Member Aurelio at 7:00 p.m. No action taken.
Other
Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried on a voice vote. With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:01 p.m.
