Jacksonville City Council met May 28.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Andy Ezard in the Council Chamber called the Jacksonville City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was publicly announced by posting and by written notice to the local newspaper and radio stations.

ROLL CALL: The following answered present: Aldermen Brandon Adams, Mike Bartlett, Don Cook, Jeff Hopkins, Lori Large Oldenettel, Mike Wankel, Steve Warmowski; Mayor Andy Ezard; City Attorney Dan Beard; City Clerk Skip Bradshaw. Absent from the meeting were Aldermen Aaron Scott, Eren Williams, Tony Williams. A quorum was declared.

MINUTES: Motion was made by Bartlett, seconded by Oldenettel, to approve the May 13, 2019 Minutes as presented in advance. By voice vote, motion carried.

PETITIONS: No discussion. 

COMMUNICATIONS: No discussion. 

CLAIMS: No discussion.

MAYOR’S REPORT: No discussion.

CITY ATTORNEY’S REPORT: No discussion. 

CITY CLERK’S REPORT: No discussion. 

PUBLIC COMMENT: No discussion.

(Benton & Associates Inc. - $4,920.44; Benton & Associates Inc. - $2,700.30; Benton & Associates Inc. - $2,002.99)

2019-R-075 Resolution APPROVING CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER #13 WITH WILLIAMS BROTHERS CONTRACTORS, INC., FOR THE NEW WATER TREATMENT PLANT PROJECT FOR TIME INCREASE TO THE CONTRACT COMPLETION DATE – Project Completion Date – December 31, 2018

Motion was made by Wankel, seconded by Cook, to accept the Consent Agenda. Mayor Ezard asked if there were any items to be pulled from the Consent Agenda for further discussion and there were none.

ROLL CALL: 7 Yeas; 0 Nays; 3Absent (Scott, E. Williams, T. Williams) 

Motion carried 7-0-3.

COMMITTEE REPORTS FINANCE/IT/PERSONNEL: No discussion.

PARKS & LAKES: No discussion.

PLANNING & PUBLIC WORKS: No discussion.

PUBLIC PROTECTION: No discussion.

SPECIAL STUDIES: No discussion.

NEW BUSINESS: Ald. Warmowski advised that about two dozen people and their dogs attended the First Sunday Stroll at the dog park.

Mayor Ezard invited everyone to attend the Chamber of Commerce Appreciation Picnic on Wednesday, June 6, 2019.

Mayor Ezard advised that June 1, 2019 is Safety Day and the first Concert in the Park Downtown. He also advised that the City Wide Cleanup is June 6, 7 & 8, 2019.

PUBLIC COMMENT: No discussion.

ADJOURNMENT: With no further discussion motion was made by Hopkins, seconded by Bartlett, to adjourn the meeting at 7:05 p.m.
