City of Virginia City Council met July 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Alderman French made a motion to appoint Alderman Bowman as chairman for this special meeting due to the absence of Mayor Brunk. Alderman Behrends seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

At 630pm, Alderman Bowman called the meeting to order. Roll was called French, Pratt, Bowman, Wulf, Behrends, and Cox all were present. The purpose of this meeting was to get A Team Disposal approved for a permit as a vendor in the city of Virginia for waste disposal. Alderman Wulf asked if A Team Disposal could send an email to the city on company letterhead that explained their business and listed the prices. Alderman Pratt asked if they were insured and they stated that they were and they would supply proof of insurance to city hall the next day following this meeting. A Team Disposal representative stated that they would give the city everything they need on Thursday, July 18th to put in the files. Alderman Bowman asked whether they would be billing weekly or quarterly and the response was both. A Team Disposal also stated they will pick up in the country and alleys and that pick up is guaranteed on Thursdays. Area Disposal picks up on Tuesdays. If people are interested in doing business with A Team Disposal, they will need to call Area Disposal and cancel their service and then call A Team Disposal to establish an account and initiate pick up. Alderman Pratt made a motion to approve the permit for A Team Disposal and Alderman Wulf seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

Alderman Wulf made a motion to adjourn the special meeting and Alderman Bowman seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
