McDonough County ESDA & Claims Committee met July 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The ESDA & Claims Committee held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3rd Floor Law Library. Committee Members present were Chairman Scott Schwerer, Dave Nissen, Letha Clark, Joe Erlandson, Trevor Toland and Julie Melvin. Member Dick Marcott and Tessa Pfafman were absent. Also present was Patrick Stout, Mike Cox and ESDA Director Edgar Rodriguez. Stacey Alexander was present for recording secretary.

Chairman Schwerer called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Approval of June 18, 2019 Minutes

Member Clark moved with a second by Member Toland to approve the June 18, 2019 minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

ESDA Director Report

Director Edgar Rodriguez reported the Continuity of Operations plan was a success. Deputy Director Derek Carle handled ESDA matters while Rodriguez was gone.

Natural Hazard Mitigation plan Five-Year update agreement with American Environmental Corp was signed and will start the grant process to cover cost of plan.

Some issues have been detected with two of the outdoor sirens in the City of Macomb. They are not rotating. The sirens are functional however the range is reduced by the lack of rotatio0n. Rodriguez is in contact with the Illinois Institute of Rural Affairs AmeriCorps to host a graduate student in the Fall Semester.

Approval of Claims

Member Nissen moved with a second by Member Melvin to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Chairman Toland moved to adjourn the meeting. With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
