MCDONOUGH DISTRICT HOSPITAL: Community Open House Set for October 2

Openhouse

McDonough District Hospital issued the following announcement on Sept. 28.

McDonough District Hospital will offer members of the Macomb community and surrounding area a first-look at the new Dolores Kator Switzer Women’s Center. The Community Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, October 2, from 4-6:30 p.m.

Those attending the Open House are encouraged to park in the main lot, Valet Services will be provided. There will also be light refreshments served during the event.

As the ongoing construction of this project nears completion, MDH will showcase the obstetrics/gynecology and diagnostic imaging areas of the DKSWC.

The DKSWC will strengthen comprehensive women’s health services in the region. This has been a highly anticipated facility renovation and expansion to meet obstetrics, gynecology, and diagnostic imaging needs.

Obstetrics patients choosing MDH for their delivery will enjoy modernized private suites and three labor/delivery/recovery rooms. The renovation of the existing space transforms the nursery into a calming and comforting environment.

In addition, the DKSWC offers a recovery area for postsurgical gynecological patients, a separate OB waiting room, and an area for visiting children to play.

More than just obstetrics and gynecology, the DKSWC also offers a separate and tranquil waiting area for diagnostic imaging patients. Modernized imaging suites feature 3-D mammography, ultrasounds, DEXA bone density scan, and stereotactic breast biopsy for patients of all ages.
