Human Resources and Planning Committee August 8, 2019 The Human Resources and Planning Committee met on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse in the Law Library. Committee Members in attendance included Chairman Letha Clark, Vice Chairman Mike Cox, Terra Litchfield, Travis Hiel, Dave Nissen and Deckle McLean. Members Larry Aurelio, Michael Kirby, and Animal Control officer were absent. Others in attendance included; Bonnie Scripps, Gayle Carper, Patrick Stout, Eric Blakely, County Chairman George Dixon, and Stacey Alexander was present as Committee Secretary.
Chairman Letha called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.
Review & Approval of July 11, 2019 Minutes
Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Hiel to approve the July 11, 2019 minutes. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Animal Control Report
Animal Control Officer Kirsta Lyles was absent. Bonnie Scripps reported that Dr. Blakely is going to start fixing cats before they will be adopted. Dropped off copies of newsletter.
Golf outing, Kris Moore Gimme Shelter, scheduled for Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. at Gold Hills Golf Club. Humane Society gave the Shelter a tag machine for ID tags, cost will be $6 a tag.
Gayle Carper asked about volunteers needed at the Animal Shelter that she had seen on Facebook. Eric talked about Neck Up the Square, Friday, August 23, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. He and Karen with the Humane Society will be on the square at the Forum.

Member Hiel moved with a second by Member McLean to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Other
Discussed FS contract for LP gas at the Animal Shelter. Member Cox motioned to do prepay contract with FS, Member McLean with a second. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Member Nissen moved to enter Executive Session, Member Litchfield seconded at 7:25 p.m. Exited Executive Session at 8:01 with no action taken.
Chairman Dixon mentioned bond hearing will be with full County Board August 21, 2019.

Member Hiel moved with a second by Member Cox that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried on a voice vote. With no further business to discuss the meeting adjourned at 8:04 p.m.
