McDonough District Hospital issued the following announcement on Oct. 8.
McDonough District Hospital and Dr. Jill Brody of McDonough Eye Associates are co-sponsoring an AARP Driver Safety Course on Friday, November 22, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. This 8-hour program will be held in Auditoriums A and B, located on the lower level of MDH.
Presented in a classroom setting by Ken Cole of Macomb, the Driver Safety Course consists of instructor guidance, a video, and discussion of driving concerns. Participants will also learn tips on how to avoid driving hazards. There is no driving involved and no tests are given.
Illinois state law requires that all insurance companies give an auto insurance discount to all drivers age 50 and older who complete this accident prevention course. Please contact your auto insurance agent regarding the amount of your discount.
The course is $15 for AARP members with a valid card, and $20 for nonmembers, payable to AARP the day of the course. Pre-registration is required and seating is limited. Register today by calling the MDH Public Relations office at (309) 836-1557 or emailing elsmith@mdh.org.
