McDonough County Human Resources and Planning Committee met Sept. 12.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The Human Resources and Planning Committee met on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse in the Law Library. Committee Members in attendance included Chair Letha Clark, Vice Chair Mike Cox, Larry Aurelio, Michael Kirby, Terra Litchfield, Dave Nissen and Deckle McLean. Member Travis Hiel was absent. Others in attendance included; Animal Control Officer Kirsta Lyles, Bonnie Scripps, Gayle Carper, Patrick Stout, Karen Blakely, Eric Blakely, County Chair George Dixon, and Stacey Alexander was present as Committee Secretary.

Chairman Letha called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review & Approval of August 8, 2019 Minutes

Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Aurelio to approve the August 8, 2019 minutes. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Animal Control Report

Animal Control Officer Kirsta Lyles gave report. A new law has been put in place that all cats brought to the shelter, must be fixed. Mice issue at the Shelter has been taken care of, they have a contract with Seventh Sons. 

Humane Society is transporting cats to be fixed to Quincy, Humane Society is paying $25 and the cost to the owner is $15. They are taking 20 cats at this time. Chubby’s is donating tips from September 12, 2019 to the Building Fund.

Report on GIS Meeting

Member Kirby met with Chad Sperry and toured GIS. Chad is willing to come talk with the Committee.

Claims

Member Cox moved with a second by Member Aurelio to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Other

Member Litchfield has set up meetings for Board Members to visit the offices in the Courthouse on October 11, 2019. Chair Clark mentioned they are looking for a Full Time Temp at the Shelter.

Chair Dixon discussed the showing of the Courthouse to 6th graders today.

Adjourn

Member McLean moved with a second by Member Kirby that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried on a voice vote. With no further business to discuss the meeting adjourned at 7:26 p.m.
