City of Macomb issued the following announcement on Nov. 15.
The City of Macomb, Illinois is currently seeking applications to fill a position at the Waste Water Treatment Plant. The position to be filled will be one of the following and will depend on applicant skills, license and certifications: Maintenance Worker, Operator I or Operator II.
This position assists in completing tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the City’s Waste Water Treatment Plant. The successful applicant shall have the ability to operate small equipment and hand tools; operate heavy equipment, as qualified; and perform manual labor to complete assigned tasks. Following directions and performing recordkeeping are essential. Working safely and independently in an environment that is sometimes undesirable is required.
A Class B CDL license is required within 90 days of employment. Residency within McDonough County will be required along with a pre-employment physical, lower back x-ray, drug screen and background investigation. High school diploma or GED required. Operator I and Operator II positions require appropriate licensing. The wage for this position will depend on the position filled.
