Q4 2019 Recap: Parolees in Rushville convicted of crimes against children

There were two offenders convicted of crimes against children released on parole in Rushville during the fourth quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the West Central Reporter.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in Rushville were men. The younger parolee was a 46-year-old man sentenced in 2005. The other was a 74-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Harry F. Jenkins. He was convicted of a crime against one or more children in 2005 when he was 31 years old. He is now 46.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
