City of Bushnell City Council met May 4.

Roll Call

Treasurer

*City Treasurer Dan Cortelyou stated that he was starting year end.

*Cortelyou informed the council that the forms have been sent out to start the

ACH Direct Deposit.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the consent agenda, which included the following items:

1. Approval of Minutes from April 20, 2020

2. Approve March 2020 Financial Report

2. Accept & Approve April 2020 bills.

Ald. Yocum seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

Ad Hoc (Mayor’s Report)

1. Mayor Wilt thanked the Community News Brief for providing the wining & dining ,curb Side, Delivery and Drive-thru directory. It is also listed on the front page of the McDonough Democrat.

2. Mayor Wilt acknowledged the Bushnell Super Sewers. They have been recognized online on KHQA and the voice. Thank you!!!

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Ald. Norton made a recommendation to accept the FOP contract, which basically states A 3% increase for the next three years, which is compatible to what everyone else got.

Ald. Norton made a motion to accept the FOP contract. Ald. M Howell seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. M Howell “aye”          Ald. Lorton “aye”

Ald. Norton “aye”              Ald. Glisan “aye”

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

Public Works-Street/Sewer/Alley

*Ald. C Howell recommended a resolution to spend $46,000 out of MFT for general maintenance. Which includes rock salt, cold patch, oil & chip, labor and materials.

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the resolution to spend $46,000 out of MFT for general materials. Ald. C Howell seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

*Eric Moe from IMEG updated the council on the SW Sanitary Sewer project. He stated The 15” line which is a big portion of it will be done next week, with the manhole lining company following up right afterward.

*Moe stated there is a manhole that is going to get set on the corner of Ludwig and Washington. There is a gas main that is in the way, the materials have been ordered and Julie has been called and should be done by the end of Thursday.

*Moe stated on the Davis street project the structures have been ordered and Hoerr will be lining the storm sewer at the same time.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Activity report for April

*Next meeting Monday, May 11 @ 4:00 via zoom.

*Jeff Rench ESDA director stated they had meeting this afternoon and McDonough County jumped up 16 cases of the Covid-19 over the weekend, putting us at 34.

*Rench stated there are a lot more positive testing’s because they are doing a lot more testing.

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

*Ald. Coates stated that we are going to cancel the fireworks displays for this year. Mayor Wilt stated that she had talked to J&M earlier and they had said they could work with us.

The fireworks cost $10,000 and this has always been through donations. The Mayor does not feel comfortable with asking for any donations at this time.

*Ald. Coates stated that everyone is wondering about clean up days. Waste Management has postponed our June 11 & 12 th date due to the Coronavirus. We don’t know at this time whether they will reschedule or not. Discussion was made about asking Area Disposal to do

One when they took over.

MAEDCO

*Director Kim Pierce stated she is in the process for McDonough County trying to get an Actual number of Paycheck Protection grant loans that went out.

*Eagle Disaster loans have additional funds for Ag based business loans.

*Pierce stated that there is an industrial based project going on in Bushnell

*Enterprise Zone next month.

Engineering

*Nothing to report

Contracts

*Waste Management clean up days was already covered earlier.

Attorney’s Report/Ordinances & Resolutions

*City Attorney Chuck Laegeler stated he has the Vicious Dog Ordinance ready to go.

*American Power Lease, their attorney working on paperwork to get ready.

Ald. Allen made a motion to adjourn.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:09
