Analysis: Beardstown pays $5.62 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Beardstown Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.9 percent of the $92,118 the Beardstown Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.62 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Beardstown contributed $78,204 to the fund, which saw a $9,940 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $13,913, or 15.1 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
