OLD BUSINESS

• Morgan County Community Needs Assessment Survey

Alan reviewed the survey results with the Commission. The validity of the data from the survey is in question due to the sample size and the socioeconomic status of the participants.

A concern highlighted was the lack of mental health counseling during the pandemic. The unavailability of in person counseling had negative effects on residents.

Affordable and convenient transportation continues to be a hot topic despite many efforts by mass transit to address these concerns. Many Commission members commented on lower pricing and bus route improvements that West Central Mass Transit District has done to improve and enhance public transportation for the community. Family and spontaneous travel is a challenge for residents. Some health insurance companies are paying for transportation to medical appointments.

Affordable housing was a concern of female respondents. Alan mentioned his recent successes in assisting with housing placement.

The Commission will contrast and compare the 2018 Community Health Needs Assessment Survey sponsored by Passavant Hospital with the current Morgan County Community Needs Assessment Survey to identify similar areas of community need.
