1 McDonough County resident in forties tests positive for COVID-19 on Aug. 22

One McDonough County resident in his or her forties tested positive for COVID-19 on August 22, according to numbers being reported by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

In total, there have been 16 positive cases reported in McDonough County among residents in their forties, accounting for 10 percent of all cases in the county. Through August 22, McDonough County has reported a total of 160 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, 15 of which have ended with the victim's death.

Illinois gathers all of their COVID-19 data from across the state electronically. The reported cases and deaths will fluctuate as additional info is gathered. Chicago was home to one of the first known cases of COVID-19 in the US, as well as it's transmission.
