The Edgar County Watchdogs allege that Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s claim to be following the science and data in enacting COVID-19 restrictions is missing on key component: the science and the data.

From Prtizker’s first executive order related to the coronavirus pandemic, the Edgar County Watchdogs allege that rather than protecting the public with his actions, he instead made a priority of protecting his personal interests. One example is the marijuana industry, to which the governor has ties.

In addition, while Pritzker placed emphasis on closing places of worship, the Edgar County Watchdogs allege that only 2.3% of all COVID-19 cases in Illinois have been linked back to churches, synagogues and mosques. From there, it only goes downhill, with 1.2% of all cases linked to transmission through retail stores and 0.97% connected to sports.

Even bars and restaurants did not fare significantly worse, the Edgar County Watchdogs allege. Bars only accounted for transmission in 3.39% of cases and restaurants only figured into 4.97%.
