City of Bushnell City Council met Sept. 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

1. Approval of Minutes from September 8, 2020

2. Accept August Financial Report.

Ald. C Howell seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

Ad Hoc (Mayor’s Report)

1. Mayor Wilt stated that she is still waiting on information from the state about Halloween guidelines.

2. The Covid response rate in the county is down to 5.7%.

3. Mayor Wilt urges everyone to read the pamphlet on the Tax amendment so you will be informed on it before you vote.

4. Mayor Wilt commented on how nice the dedication ceremony for the WWII memorial turned out. Norinne Hammond spoke along with Mayor Wilt and a few others.

5. The Census rate in Bushnell is 68.8%; if you haven’t turned in your census please do so.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Next meeting will be Thursday September 24 @ 5:00

Public Works

*Public Works director Justin Griffith stated that he had interviewed 5 applicants for the Meter reader/serviceman position. He recommended hiring George Virag Jr.

Ald. Glisan made a motion to hire George Virag Jr. as the new meter reader/serviceman. Ald. Coates seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

*Ald. C Howell stated that he had 4 bids for the #4 deep well:

Lane Christensen Co. $1,114,721 Alt. $2,500

Albrecht Well Drilling Co. $748,991.00 Alt. $6,300

Gingerich Well and Pump Service $830,854.00 Alt. $12,500

Cahoy Pump Service $833,935.00 Alt $900.00

Ald. C Howell made a motion to award the bid for the #4 deep well to Albrecht Well Drilling Co. for $748,991.00. Ald. Yocum seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Nothing to report

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

*Ald. Coates stated that she had been approached about having a benefit with a live auction in the East Park. The council agreed with a general consensus.

*Next Meeting Monday September 28, 2020 at 3:30

MAEDCO

*Kim Pierce MAEDCO director reported that they were working on a couple of projects for Bushnell.

*The new car wash in Macomb should open by the end of the month.

Engineering

*Megan Crook of IMEG reported on the SW Sanitary sewer project, the excavation crew is Finished, and the sewer lining should be finished today, they will be returning to install T-liners

Contracts

*Ald. Glisan reported that the City Wide Clean up would be taking place next Monday & Tuesday, September 28th & 29th.

Attorney’s Report/Ordinances & Resolutions

*City Attorney Chuck Laegeler stated that he was making copies of the ordinances so

He could go over them and offer updates on some of the ordinances.

Ald. Allen made a motion to adjourn at 5:50
