McDonough County Finance Committee met Aug. 12.

The monthly Finance Committee meeting was held at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee members present were Chair Travis Hiel, Vice Chair Larry Aurelio, Letha Clark, Dave Cortelyou, and Dave Nissen.
Committee Member Rod McGrew was absent. Others in attendance included County Chair Scott Schwerer, County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes, Tim Lobdell, and Dave with Mass Mutual.
Chair Hiel called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Review and Approve Minutes from July 8, 2020
Vice Chair Aurelio moved with a second by Member Nissen to approve the minutes from July 8, 2020.
Motion carried on a voice vote.
Mass Mutual -Dave
Dave with Mass Mutual gave an overview of the life insurance offered to employees.
BUDGET-Animal Shelter
Budget received and filed.
BUDGET-County Clerk
Budget received and filed.
BUDGET-Tri-County Solid Waste
Tim Lobdell presented his FY 2021 budget, requesting a budget of $69,713.00.
MCPT Report Review & Approval
The monthly request for July 2020 was reviewed. Vice Chair Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the MCPT Report in the amount of $1,356.00 for July, 2020. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Bushnell Senior Meals Report Review & Approval
The monthly report for July 2020 from the YMCA for transportation of senior meals was reviewed.
Member Nissen moved with a second by Vice Chair Aurelio to approved the July 2020 YMCA report in the amount of $633.87. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Coroner Report
The monthly Coroner Report was received and filed.
Monthly Financial Reports
The monthly Financial Reports were received and filed.
Transfer of Funds
There was a transfer of funds to Mutual Medical in the amount of $250,000.00
Warrants Issued in Vacation
Vice Chair Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the Warrants Issued in Vacation.
Motion carried on a voice vote.
Insurance Update
The total for last year ending 7/30/19 was $1,346,881.00, this year ending 7/30/20 is $1,188,031.00.
The total for prescriptions ending 7/30/19 was $194,515.00, this year ending 7/30/20 is $219,641.00.
The Mutual Medical balance as of 8/6/20 is $356,348.81.
Approval of Claims
Member Clark moved with a second by Member Nissen to approve the Claims as submitted.
Motion carried on a voice vote.

County Board Chair Comments
McDonough County had one new Covid case today. A discussion was held on the Emergency Disaster Order.

Vice Chair Aurelio moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to adjourn the meeting at 7:05 p.m.
