City of Macomb Committee of the Whole Will Meet October 12

City of Macomb Committee of the Whole will meet on Monday, Oct. 12.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

ROLL CALL

PUBLIC COMMENTS – Citizens wishing to address the City Council will be limited to Three (3) minutes and are asked to be brief and concise in making their remarks.

1.Presentation from Dr. John Hallwas on two historical figures who were raised in Macomb.

Alderman Brown-Edward asked for this to be placed on the agenda.

2.Discussion on the following R.I.S.E program applications: 603 West Adams Street, 511 West Adams Street and 521 North Albert Street.

A memo from CDC Bannon is attached for your review. Discussion is planned.

3.Presentation on Police Reform and Racial Justice by Police Chief Curt Barker.

4.Presentation on Body Worn Cameras by Police Chief Curt Barker.

5.Discussion on submitting the South Johnson Street Road and Water Main Improvements project to IDOT as our bond money funded project.

This was a recommendation from the Public Works committee. A memo from PW Director Ohrtmann is attached for your review. Discussion is planned.

6.Discussion on soliciting “Request for Qualifications” to conduct a storm sewer study for the Lawndale and Pearl Street area.

This was a recommendation from the Public Works committee and a memo from PW Director Ohrtmann is attached for your review. Discussion is planned.

7.Discussion on the proposed design engineering agreement with IMEG Corp. for the water main replacement at University Drive and North Lafayette Street in the amount of $11,725.00.

This was a recommendation from the Public Works committee. A memo from PW Director Ohrtmann is attached for your review. Discussion is planned.

8.Discussion on an ordinance to authorize the issuance of a Special Use Permit to establish a Place of Worship in a B-3 Downtown Business District at 18 West Side Square.

This ordinance had first reading last Monday night and further discussion is planned.

9.Discussion on an ordinance adopting an altered speed zone on Burlington Road program.

This ordinance had first reading last Monday night and further discussion is planned.

10.Other business.

Executive Session

To consider information relative to:

a) Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of an employee of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, pursuant to Sec. 2(c)(1) of the Open Meetings Act.

b) Collective Bargaining matters between the public body and its employees or representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees, pursuant to Sec. 2(c)(2) of the Open Meetings Act.

c) The purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body, pursuant to Sec. 2(c)(5) of the Open Meetings Act.

d)The setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the public body, pursuant to Sec. 2(c)(6) of the Open Meetings Act.

e) Pending or probable litigation, pursuant to Sec. 2(c)(11) of the Open Meetings Act.
