City of Dallas City Council met June 24.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The Dallas City City Council held its regular meeting at 5 p.m. Mayor Kevin Six called the meeting to order with the following commissioners present: Lila Gittings, Carole McDowell, Harold Northup Jr., and Greg Olson.

Others attending the meeting were Anne Thompson, Gary Smith, and Doug Erickson.

A motion was made by Olson, and 2nd by Northup to accept the minutes of the June 10, 2020, meeting. McDowell, Northup, and Olson AYE. Gittings ABSTAIN.

Mayor Six reported that the city engineer has heard back from the contractor regarding the shoulder work that needs to be done along East Fourth Street where the sewer project was done last year. The contractor does not feel that the shoulder work is their responsibility.

Chris Greenhalge has sent the council some information regarding the city's website. The approximate yearly costs for a new website will be $213. A motion was made by Northup, and 2nd by Gittings to have Chris Greenhalge proceed with the changing of the city's website. Gittings, McDowell, Northup, and Olson AYE.

The city clerk reported that the city has received $8,296.24 from FEMA for the reimbursement of a portion of the 2019 flood expenses.

Discussed trees in the city cemetery. Mayor Six will contact Dalton Maynard about getting a bid to remove these trees.

Discussed putting a gravel drive at the old sewer plant location that is now used for burning brush.

Doug Erickson discussed proceeding with the Facility Plan for the sewer lift stations. Benton and Associates fee for doing this will be $12,000. A motion was made by Olson, and 2nd by Northup to hire Benton and Associates to do the Facility Plan for the sewer lift stations for $12,000. Gittings, McDowell, Northup, and Olson AYE.

Mr. Erickson has contacted the CGB Elevator regarding their expansion plans with the elevator in town. They informed Mr. Erickson that they have had a change of plans and do not intend on expanding the elevator now. He also reminded the council that the sewer project contractor is scheduled to be in town in the next few weeks to do their warranty inspection.

A motion was made by Northup, and 2nd by McDowell to adjourn the meeting. Gittings, McDowell, Northup, and Olson AYE.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:27 p.m.
