CITY OF BEARDSTOWN: Cass County's COVID-19 Update for November 6th

City of Beardstown issued the following announcement on Nov. 7.

The Cass County Health Department is saddened to announce a Covid related death today in a male in his 70s. This is the 12th death in Cass County associated with Covid.

The Illinois Department of Public Health has confirmed 26 new cases of Covid 19 today in Cass County. The new positives include two males in their teens, three males in their 20s, four females in their 20s, one male in his 30s, three females in their 30s, two females in their 40s, three females in their 50s, one male in her 60s, one male in his 70s, one female in her 70s, two males in their 80s, one female in her 80s, one male in his 90s, and one female over 100. Seven of these cases are linked to an outbreak at a long-term care facility. All new cases have been notified and instructed to isolate at home or in their long-term care facility. CCHD is in the process of notifying close contacts with instructions on quarantine.

Cass County’s overall Covid-19 case count is now at 565. The active case count is at 95. The total number recovered is 458, with twelve deceased. There are now two cases hospitalized.

Cass County Health Department reminds residents to remain vigilant and reduce Covid-19 spread by maintaining social distance, wearing a mask when in public, washing hands frequently, and staying home if you feel sick.
